Opened by Sile de Valera in 2001, Blue Leaf Gallery was established to provide a strong supportive platform for new, emerging and established artists, Irish and international. The gallery offers a broad programme of solo and group exhibitions presented within the gallery and in venues throughout the city. Blue Leaf Gallery is developing new exhibition initiatives for its associated artists outside the country with the aim of expanding its international audience.
Blue Leaf Gallery originated in Fairview, on the northern outskirts of Dublin city centre, and provided a much welcomed addition to the north Dublin community in providing local access to contemporary art. In 2003, a second gallery was opened by An Taoiseach Bertie Ahern in the city centre of Dublin on Lower Pembroke Street consisting of a two-story expansive space enabling the gallery to present group and solo exhibitions simultaneously while fostering new audiences. Three years later, with a newly adopted emphasis on international exhibition opportunities, Blue Leaf Gallery closed its Pembroke Street premises and pursued new initiatives from its premises in Fairview.
Blue Leaf Gallery prides itself in its reputation for providing a high level of personal care and attention in looking after the varied interests of its patrons, of first-time buyers, collectors and corporations alike. The gallery is always pleased to offer advice to its patrons in developing their own art preferences, as well as extending an opportunity to gain an understanding and appreciation of the art works available by the gallery's own artists - many of whom are recipients of prestigious awards and sited recognition for their work in publications such as the 'Who’s Who in Art' and in the critics choices, 'The Buyer’s Guide to Irish Art'.
